Aviation Heritage Park - Bowling Green, KY
This park is clearly a labor of love and respect. The aircraft on display are representative of the breadth and depth of Kentucky aviators. The T-38 was the NASA bird flown by ALL of the Mercury, Gemini and Apollo astronauts - WOW! The ACTUAL aircraft! The F4D is THE aircraft in which Cherry and Feinstein shot down a MiG-21 on April 16, 1972! The F-111F flew on the wing of Col Franklin on Operation El Dorado Canyon, April 15, 1986 over Libya.
