Arizona Military Museum - Phoenix, AZ

The Arizona Military Museum is an OUTSTANDING museum! Thoughtfully laid out and organized, stocked full of fascinating information, exhibits and artifacts the museum chronicles the military history of Arizona from the Conquistadors to the GWOT. Rarely do I find a museum that makes me wish I had more time to read EVERYTHING inside, but here I did!
The heart of the museum is former 1st Air Cavalry Lieutenant Joe Abodeely - Vietnam veteran and author of the multiple award winning memoir, “Dear Mom and Dad, Love from Vietnam.” We had the pleasure and honor of meeting Mr Abodeely, a truly larger-than-life and engaging character, and being treated to a warm and welcoming tour of some of the museum highlights - including the Vietnam War displays with the uniform Lt Abodeely wore home from Vietnam and a Huey gunship they somehow managed to stuff inside the museum.
